About five months after Ricardo Da Ros left his position as director of Binance in Brazil, the cryptocurrency exchange with a strong national presence announced a vacancy for the position. The job was advertised on both LinkedIn and Binance's website.

According to the announcement, the General Manager for Brazil will lead strategy and operations in one of Binance's key markets worldwide.

“You will play a vital role in every aspect of the business, from creating the best possible exchange, through the best field operations, to launching new product offerings in your country. This role requires a well-trained leader, someone who can create and lead strategies, but also roll up their sleeves and get their hands dirty.”

Responsibilities

Among the main responsibilities for the position are:

  • Definition of expansion plans for the market and new services launch plan;
  • Development of new strategies for operational standards;
  • Management of the organization in Brazil, including team leadership and definition of hiring;
  • Supervision and guidance of budget, P&L performance and financial milestones to achieve goals;
  • Leadership of the main local marketing activities, such as the development of new partnerships and the organization of important events.

Vacancy requirements

Candidates must have a minimum of 8 years of “proven success in a similar role”; strong understanding of growth tactics and a track record of high-performing teams.

In addition, you need to have excellent written and verbal communication skills; fluency in English and inspiring profile.

It is also necessary that the professional is focused on data analysis and has strong interpersonal skills. Finally, an entrepreneurial mindset and passion for the crypto market are necessary:

“We are trying to change an entire industry and that will take time. Passion is what gets you excited to go to work every morning.”

New director will occupy the position of Ricardo Da Ros

As mentioned, the last director of Binance in Brazil was Ricardo Da Ros. He resigned from his post in July this year after a six-month stint in the role.

When he announced the resignation, Da Ros claimed "misalignment of expectations":

“There was a misalignment of expectations about my role and I made the decision in line with my personal values. Binance Brasil's team is excellent and the company has great products and services. I just wish you luck in the next steps so that the company can follow a positive path in the Brazilian market.”
